NEHA Announces Scholarship Opportunities for Environmental Health Students and Professionals

DENVER---The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) announces applications are now being accepted for three scholarship and award opportunities for environmental health students and professionals.

        Awarded through a partnership between NEHA and the American Academy of Sanitarians (AAS), the NEHA/AAS Scholarship encourages early commitment by students to a career in environmental health and strives to stimulate past and present graduates to pursue post graduate studies in environmental health sciences and/or public health. Funded in part by a contribution from American Public University, the program offers financial assistance to individuals with a demonstrable need and serves to introduce adequately trained professionals into the environmental health workforce. Specific requirements and applications are located on the NEHA scholarship website or at the web address below. The deadline to submit an application is February 14.

           Decade Software Company is hosting an essay contest to award scholarships for 15 environmental health professionals to attend the NEHA 2014 AEC. All environmental health professionals are encouraged to submit an essay. The topic of the essay is open to the writer, but should be focused on innovative ideas in the environmental health field.         The International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH) is hosting an essay contest for their prestigious Roy Emerson Award. Students who are affiliated with an IFEH country are invited to submit an essay and presentation on this year’s theme: “The Climate Change Challenge: Engaging the Environmental Health Practitioner.” The winner will receive airfare to Las Vegas, hotel accommodations, and a full conference registration to accept the award in person at the NEHA 2014 Annual Educational Conference (AEC) & Exhibition, held in partnership with the IFEH 13th World Congress. All entries should be submitted to Peter Davey, IFEH President, at deadline to submit an essay is April 30.
