The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) is honored to join the International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH) in celebrating World Environmental Health Day on September 26. This partnership was built to raise global awareness about today’s most pressing environmental health concerns.
This year's theme is Prioritizing Environmental Health for Healthier Communities in Global Recovery.
The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the vital role carried out by the environmental health workforce during these challenging times. The pandemic has also highlighted the integral connection between environment, health, and economy. The World Health Organization (WHO) advocates for a green and healthy recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic in its WHO Manifesto for a Health Recovery From COVID-19: Prescriptions and Actionables for a Healthy and Green Recovery.
Through this year's theme for World Environmental Health Day, IFEH strives to reinforce the importance of investing in a healthy and green recovery with the support of the environmental health workforce.
